An Angling Showcase, PDAC & Friends
We are excited to announce that we are in the midst of preparations to host a remarkable event aimed at connecting a diverse range of organisations within the angling community. This event will take place at the picturesque Nyewood ponds on Saturday, the 6th of September, and promises to be a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned anglers and those new to the sport to engage with various offerings and activities.
Among the highlights of the day, we are thrilled to confirm the participation of the widely acclaimed GET FISHING event, organised by the dedicated PDAC Development team. This initiative will provide attendees with a complimentary fishing experience, allowing individuals of all ages and skill levels to try their hand at fishing in a welcoming environment. Additionally, the renowned Frensham Trout Fishery will be offering free Fly Fishing tuition sessions, giving participants the chance to learn from experienced instructors and enhance their skills on the water. The event will also feature an array of outreach stalls from local angling-related organisations, which will provide valuable information and resources to attendees. Furthermore, there will be opportunities for table-top sales of second-hand fishing equipment, perfect for those looking to pick up some new gear or find a bargain.
We are proud to announce the organisations that have already confirmed their attendance at this exciting event:
- Horizon DAC
- Billy's Lake Project
- Clarefield Copse Wild Camping
- Frensham Trout Fishery
- PDAC Development Programme
Alongside these confirmed participants, we are in ongoing talks with several other organisations to further expand our stall area. If you belong to an angling-related organisation offering free community events or services, or are part of an organisation linked to waterway trusts or projects and wish to participate in this showcase, please contact Shaun at shaun.pdac@gmail.com. Your participation could significantly enhance the experience for all attendees.
Moreover, we are seeking enthusiastic volunteers from our members to assist with the smooth running of this event in various capacities. This includes opportunities such as coaching during the GET FISHING event, where your expertise could help inspire newcomers to the sport, as well as serving as guides to direct attendees to different locations throughout the venue. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Shaun for more details on how you can contribute to making this event a success.
Lastly, we would like to reach out to our community for assistance in providing temporary signage to help guide attendees during the event. Clear and informative signage is crucial to ensure that everyone can easily navigate the various activities and stalls. If you have any resources or can assist in this area, we would greatly appreciate your support, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
We plan to share more information once it's confirmed.
