Southdowns Show 2025

ree

Dear PDAC members,

Are you able to help?

As most of you are aware, the events team has organised a stand at the upcoming Southdown’s show, which serves as an excellent opportunity to promote our club and engage with the local community. This stand is not merely a representation of our club; it is a vibrant space where we can connect with potential new members, share our passion for the activities we offer. Our stand, will feature two exciting games that are available for the show’s patrons to participate in free of charge. The first game is a casting game, where participants will have the chance to test their skills by trying to get a ball into a bucket from a distance. The second game is a fun and engaging magnetic hook-a-fish game, which promises to be a hit with attendees of all ages. Both of these games are designed not only to entertain but also to draw attention to our club and what we stand for.

This year, however, we find ourselves a little short on volunteers to man the stall efficiently throughout the event. Therefore, we are reaching out to you, our valued members, to see if you could lend a hand either on Saturday, the 9th of August, or Sunday, the 10th, or even better, on both days if your schedule allows. Your presence at the stall would be incredibly beneficial, not only to ensure that the games run smoothly but also to represent our club and engage with the attendees.

If you are available to assist on both days, we have planned a barbecue and a few refreshing beers to enjoy together after a rewarding day at the show. Additionally, we invite you to pitch a tent or set up a bivvy and stay the night with us. We only request a £10 contribution towards the barbecue. This gathering not only provides a chance for relaxation and socialising after a busy day but also strengthens the bonds within our club community. It is a fantastic opportunity to build lasting relationships, exchange stories, and share experiences, all while showcasing what our club has to offer. Engaging with the community in this way is essential for ensuring a long-lasting future for our club and its activities.
