Hi everyone,
My name is Darren Stone I returned to fishing last year after a 25-year absence, many of the old faces are still here but there are many new ones too and the club has been looked after very well indeed by those who put their hands up and run it.
When I was a member all those years ago we had a competition called the
George Mckee Knockout Shield in memory of the long serving secretary of the club who died in the 70’s
I would like to once again revive and update that competition and the committee have agreed to it running next year.
The Knockout Cup
The competition is a head to head match event and we are limiting numbers to 32 anglers,
Entry opens on January 1st 2022 and closes on March 31st 2022 or when we have reach our 32 angler limit.
The format
Once the draw has taken place the “Home” angler has two weeks to make contact with his opponent and subsequently giving them 3 dates and venue for their match, if the “Home player fails to make contact then the away player takes the privilege of “Home angler” and can pick and choose venue
Matches must be on the following PDAC waters:
· Nyewood
· Coombe
· Iping
· Bo peep
· East Pond
All matches must be between 3-6 hours long.
All match and general water rules apply; please inform the club of your match date and time so bailiffs are aware a 2 angler match is taking place.
· First round draw 1 April 2022
· First round Matches to be completed by June 30 2022
· Second round draw 1 July 2022
· Second round matches to be completed by August 31 2022
· Quarter final draw 1 September 2022
· Quarter finals to be completed by November 31 2022
· Semi-final draw 1 December 2022
· Semi-final to be completed by January 31 2023
Final to take place in the first two weeks of March (Venue to be decided by the committee)
The Final will take place on a neutral venue and the cost taken from the entry fee (If a full 32 players enter this will include a night’s stay (premier Inn not the Ritz)
Anglers who lose their first round draw will be entered into the Plate competition, this will be drawn at the same time as the main competition and the final will be at a local day ticket venue.
