JCC Junior League update

ree

On Sunday, 31st August, Nyewood Ponds hosted the penultimate round of the JCC Junior League series. The weather shift, bringing gusty winds and showers, made fishing very challenging for all six juniors. Most participants aimed for silvers early on, with some continuing throughout to gain some weight, while a few chose to target Carp using the feeder, though this strategy proved unsuccessful for everyone. Luke Hales succeeded in catching a Carp close in on the Whip, and along with a good haul of silvers, he secured the top spot of the day with 14.00 lbs. Emily Hankin and Jack Hales finished second and third, respectively, with just one ounce between them.

The final event in this series is scheduled for Saturday, 20th September at Harting Combe, starting at 12:00 pm. The league standings are very close among the top three juniors, so there's still much to compete for. A strong catch of Bream or Tench could significantly influence the final standings for both the Masters & Aggregate Trophies. An awards presentation will take place immediately following the event.

We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, JCC Lighting, for their support of the league series and the Junior Open. The Development Programme is seeking additional sponsorship for next year's junior events. If any local businesses or individuals are interested in supporting our juniors for a season, please contact us at thepdac@gmail.com.

Round 5 results.
