JCC Junior League Match - 12th July

The fourth event in the JCC Junior League series took place at Nyewood top pond on Saturday.

It was one of the hottest days on record, so the focus was on keeping the youngsters in the shade and well-hydrated. The competition was held on the north bank, pegs 1-13, the only shaded area of the pond. Due to the rising temperatures, the match officials decided to shorten the event by one hour..

Seven of our club juniors worked diligently, aiming for Rudd & Roach, occasionally switching to the feeder to attract a Carp, although they were elusive, merely cruising around without feeding. However, Emily Hankin successfully caught a Carp, and along with a Bream and a collection of silvers, she secured the top position. Luke and Jack Hales, siblings, took 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, competing fiercely for silvers until the very end.

We express our gratitude to our sponsors, JCC Lighting and Steve Barnett (Bordon Angling Centre), for providing excellent prizes.
