New to Angling?

Tuition Sessions

In association with the PDAC Development Programme

We are excited to announce a series of tuition sessions designed to enhance your fishing skills and knowledge. These sessions, lasting for two hours each, are offered completely free of charge and are facilitated by our dedicated and experienced volunteers. These individuals are not only passionate about fishing but also possess a wealth of knowledge and practical experience that they are eager to share with participants. The goal of these sessions is to provide you with valuable skills, insightful tips, and practical advice that will help you improve your own fishing techniques and overall enjoyment of the sport.

During these comprehensive sessions, participants will have the opportunity to learn a variety of essential skills. The curriculum will include detailed demonstrations of knot tying and rig setup, which are fundamental skills every angler should master. In addition, we will cover how to create an effective tabletop display, providing advice on suitable equipment and methods that will enhance your fishing experience. Fish handling and care will also be a significant focus, as it is crucial to understand how to treat fish responsibly and ethically. To ensure that all questions are addressed, each session will conclude with a dedicated Q&A segment, allowing participants to seek clarification on any topics discussed.

We warmly invite individuals and families of all ages and experience levels to join us for these educational sessions, particularly those who are new to fishing and eager to learn. Our aim is to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and encouraged to participate. Please note that due to limited availability, these sessions will require prior bookings to ensure that we can accommodate all interested participants effectively.

It is important to mention that all members under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult during these sessions. This policy not only ensures the safety of younger participants but also promotes a family-friendly atmosphere where parents and guardians can engage alongside their children, fostering shared learning experiences.

To make the most of your day, we encourage you to bring along your own tackle and bait, so you can enjoy some fishing after the session concludes. This provides a wonderful opportunity to put into practice the skills and techniques you've just learned, allowing you to gain confidence and further enhance your fishing abilities in a supportive environment.
