Nyewood Update 23/09/25

Club volunteers have now initiated the second phase of the Nyewood Ponds improvement plan. The initial islands were installed in recent weeks as fish refuges to protect our stocks from Cormorants. All islands feature a built-in barrier to deter waterfowl, and now planted, they will also contribute to improved water quality. This project is part of the Angling Improvement Programme, funded by the Environment Agency (rod licence sales) through the Angling Trust.
