A quick round up for those planning on visiting the waters soon, recent weather conditions has affected parking and access to some swims.
Bopeep:
Car park is currently soft. I would remind members parking in the lay-by opposite, will be at their own risk. Please do not park outside the gate as access is required by the forestry commission at all times.
All swims are dry and accessible.
East Pond:
No problems reported with access, although two swims are currently submerged due to increased water levels.
Nyewood Ponds:
The turnaround point at the bottom of the track is very soft and muddy, with vehicles likely to get stuck, we shall be roping this area off to allow the ground to settle and I would advise members to reverse down and drive out.
All swims accessible, although avoid the swims on the top pond, pegs 15 and upwards as very wet & muddy.
Recent reports suggest the road closure from Rogate to Nyewood is still in place. I would recommend for members approaching from the Petersfield direction take an alternative route to Nyewood via South Harting. I would strongly advise members not to take the route on Dumpfold Lane from Trotton, this lane is very narrow with limited passing areas and I have also received recent reports of flooding.
Harting Combe:
Access and swims remain dry on the public footpath bank, the new bank, not so, but still accessible with some dry swims.
Car Park remains solid.
River:
River is now closed 15th March – 15th June.
